Cougar 14 + up and down Squak

Ran with Todd Morse Tucker today! That guy is super company. In the beginning I felt like hell and had to walk a bunch but then once we started to descend from Squak I felt better. Then climbing Cougar again Todd was hurting and had to slow so it was a very give and take run. Bottom line we were both very happy to have the other one along. Mutual encouragement and all that.

I managed my nutrition well and never felt bonky, I just need to get fitter. Today was 40 minutes longer than last weekend, progress.

I was hoping to do something faster or a progression run but it was not in the cards. Running, skiing and not a lot of sleep yesterday sapped my will today.

I had to stop and get off for 5-10 seconds twice, once with 10 min to go and once with 5 min to go. My body was fine, I just lost the will to continue.

Lake Union lunch run

This morning I was getting all motivated for a treadmill run at lunch and then boom! Sunny/dry/warm afternoon to the rescue. It was 50 degrees and all I needed was shorts and a t-shirt.

Normally/six months ago this pace would have been a total cruise but today it was kind of hard. Almost tempo at times. Time to start training.

I got on the snow and my legs were pretty tired... so I just made some easy turns for a few laps. Lost my first race by about one second because I got late in turn 4 and couldn't recover but found more focus in my second run and won by .5 seconds.

Howe Street stairs

This was my last session with Jim Kodjababian! Not sure I will be so motivated to show up again for a bit... We did 15 flights together so I got in 20 because of my five 'warm up' flights. We were both pretty toast by the end. My legs felt pretty heavy and slow. I think it's time for me to do some faster runs, progression runs, track workouts, that kind of thing.
