Cougar 12 + Bear Ridge

Ran with Bryan Estes, I love talking to this guy. We both like ranting about how users can't handle technology.

Slept like shit but my legs felt pretty good! Obviously I am pretty rested. Things were going great until I took a digger and tore my right knee open. Instantly blood was all the way down to my ankle. It hurt so much my stomach was feeling queezey for a bit. :( I sat in the trail for a minute and then had to walk for several more before I could jog again. Luckily by the end of the run it felt fine. I'm pretty much over falling.

Man, I _was_ pretty tired today but then life got in the way during the second half of the day and I wasn't up for anything mentally anyway.

SRC track workout

The goal was 4 or 5 x 1 mile, I managed three and then blew/caved on the 4th so called it quits and watched all the fast guys finish up. And by fast I mean low to high 5s.

This speed work is sure tough for me but I'm hoping it will help down the road. And running to and from the track is a great way to add miles/warm up/cool down.

Howe Street stairs

Today felt a little better than last Thursday, and it does not bother my knee! My heart rate strap is still way high, as in on drugs and literally. I'm sure I didn't break 160 today. It seems to spike right when I start and then drop slowly until it approaches reality.

Cycling (Commute) 37:36 [2] 8.08 mi (4:39 / mi) +555ft 4:22 / mi
ahr:72 max:92 shoes: Raleigh Mojave 8.0

commute to work

Went to FootWorks PT and had Neal Goldberg check out my left knee. He said it's nothing to worry about as long as it does not hurt while running and as long as it does nothing more than ache a little after I stop. I think skiing all day on March 19 really did re-aggrivate my stupid IT band and there is fluid on the joint.

Neal told me to get back on the foam roller. How do people find the time to do everything?

Once again I was not wearing my heart rate strap and it was in my messenger bag. Whatever.

Fleet Feet run

Summer loop - good times. I love dirt trails. Had to walk the last 10 steps but I'll get there. At least I was able to pick it up through Volunteer Park and back to the shop.

I didn't really want to admit it but ever since I went heli skiing two weeks ago my left knee has been swelling and aching again. Shit. It has not hurt while running but I haven't really been able to do much of that lately either. Just scheduled a visit with Neal Goldberg to get this sorted.
