Red course by Tony Federer at Whitaker Woods in North Conway. Nice map, nice compact area. Interesting mix of flat/bland, hill side, with a couple of complex areas.

A few minor bobbles and moments of uncertainty. Ended up 3d behind Ernst ~ 67 min and Steve ~68 min.

Didn't really feel like getting right up and running this morning, but did it anyways. Not too far, not too fast, but it was a pleasant start to the day.

Camping Weekend - Saturday Red.

Terrific course - very tough with the butteryfly loops in the boulder field. Sloppy in a few too many places.
8 PM

Orienteering 1:53:45 intensity: (37:05 @1) + (46:47 @2) + (26:50 @3) + (3:03 @4) ***** 7.96 km (14:18 / km) +144m 13:06 / km

WHNO - started off very promising, but then fizzled. 4 was bad, 5 was horrid, 6 was so-so, 7 was challenging, then I ran out of energy and decided it was no longer fun.

Bagged it from 7 to 12-13-14.

New headlamp made a tremendous difference, just need to be more attentive at key points.

Woke up feeling like I should go for a short run, so I did.

Note

Dead moose on the side of I-93 this morning as I was heading to RI. Just south of exit 17.

State Police car and a DOT truck both with flashing lights, so of course everyone had to slow down to look. I tried looking without slowing down and just about rear-ended the guy in front of me.

If I'd been thinking, should have pulled over and tried to score some moose steaks for the Pawtuckaway Camping Weekend. Fresh road kill, a NH tradition...
6 PM

Run (treadmill) 21:10 intensity: (8 @0) + (50 @1) + (2:13 @2) + (11:20 @3) + (6:39 @4) 2.2 km (9:37 / km)
ahr:144 max:164 shoes: Brooks

Treadmill at the hotel. Given the marginal AC in the room, should have just gone out on the roads/sidewalks
