Run (trails) 32:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Assail Trail

Bike Trails at Ahern
Cool and breezy.

A few trees down in the woods fromt he high winds late last week.

Have to wait until my laptop comes back from the shop to download the FRWD trace and the Timex heart rate info.
On-off button not working, again. Had to get that fixed about 4 months after I got it. It's been about 2 years, but it's still a pain. Need to be more disciplined about backing up critical info on a regular basis...

Run (pavement) 23:00 [2] 4.1 km (5:37 / km) +13m 5:31 / km
ahr:152 max:167 shoes: Brooks

Morning run - not too far, not too fast.

Little up, little down. Very little.

Run (Trails/Woods) 33:00 [3] 4.35 km (7:35 / km) +90m 6:53 / km
shoes: Nike Air Assail Trail

Evening run at Ahern - just me and the FDFs. Mostly on the very twisty new bike trails - trying to follow them as it gradually got darker in the woods. Pletny of light when I hit the main trail and the power lines.

Run hills (trails) 27:20 [4] ** 3.45 km (7:55 / km) +220m 6:00 / km
ahr:157 shoes: Nike Air Assail Trail

The upper Cobble trails after an hour mapping the newly cut XC trails.

There's more hill there than I remember - or I don't remember it too well, as I don't ski those trails too much.
Decided to run up to the top. Had to walk a few sections - feeling old and tired, and it's pretty damned steep in a few sections. Felt much better coming down, so much so that I went down the upper diagonal then back up the lower diagonal.

AOWN - spooked a partridge that was off to the side of the trail. More accurately, the partridge took off through the trees with a great deal of fuss and noise, and I was spooked...

Hiking 1:15:00 [1] *** +70m
shoes: Nike Air Assail Trail

Mapping the newly cut XC trails on the lower N side of Cobble Mtn.
I hope they're going to get some of the slash out of there, or it will take 2-3 feet of snow for some sections to be skiiable. Some good sized logs still lying aronud out there. Some sections are fairly well cleared so you could run on them, others are hazardous at a slow walk. Wonder if they're planning on bringing in a chipper and mulching most of the smaller branches?

One section only goes in about 150m, then deadends. From the flagging, this will connect through the lower parts of the upper (hazardous) Cobble trails

Good warmup for some hill work, and a nice cool down afterwards.

Run (pavement) 25:00 [3] 4.8 km (5:12 / km) +55m 4:56 / km
ahr:150 max:169 shoes: Brooks

morning run - cool, but humid. Even more humid in the low areas - glasses were fogging up.

Felt really out of it yesterday - been too long since I've been running, or gotten my heart rate up - apparently hiking isn't enough to get the endorphin rush...
