Run 44:05 intensity: (24 @0) + (48 @1) + (7:08 @2) + (26:47 @3) + (8:58 @4) 6.73 km (6:33 / km) +153m 5:53 / km
ahr:149 max:159 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 315

Trail run at Gunstock
Roclites are OK with thicker socks and a double sole insert. Certainly a bit heavier than the 212s, but good traction (except on thick wet leaves) and more protection on rough ground.

Checking out the new section of the Bear Brook map.
Think the version I was using was not yet set to magnetic north. Not certain on some of the rock feature mapping - but that could be from not having the map lined up.

Soem interesting variety between different sections of the map, nit sure what to make of the logged section. Not as much slash as I expected, and the sections of untouched woods make for a neat contrast. Wonder what it is like when the vegetation is green and growing?

Looks like I only punch my watch for a lap when I got back to my car rather than stopping it. Times and logged distance corrected, trace shows how I drove home as well.

Run 32:17 intensity: (18 @0) + (24 @1) + (7:39 @2) + (23:56 @3) 4.36 km (7:24 / km) +138m 6:24 / km
ahr:145 max:155 shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 315

RV Farms.
First run in my new Inov-8 RocLite 315's.
Feel a bit big. Tightened down the laces partway through, but a fold started rubbing on the side of my foot, just in front of the arch. Thicker socks, add another insole??
Guess the sizing between Inov-8 models is not consistent.

Run (pavement) 49:13 intensity: (41 @0) + (2:27 @1) + (5:41 @2) + (38:48 @3) + (1:36 @4) 8.05 km (6:07 / km) +106m 5:44 / km
ahr:146 max:157 shoes: Brooks

Almost didn't get out the door - was dragging a bit.
Once I got going decided to go a bit longer than my normal just-get-warmed-up-and-you're-done run.
Felt pretty good, still a ways to go on getting some speed back in my legs and feeling spry again.

Orienteering race 17:01 intensity: (12 @0) + (9 @1) + (45 @2) + (7:45 @3) + (8:10 @4) ***** 2.52 km (6:45 / km) +29m 6:23 / km
ahr:153 max:165 spiked:13/16c shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

NAOC - Green X Sprint
Reasonably good race. Not clean to first or second control, but got better after that.
Not a lot of high end speed available - conditioning and weight are both factors.

NAOC Green X Long
Not a stellar run.
Two 5+ min mistakes, plus a lot of just slow and not in the shape I could be.

ahr:153 max:169 shoes: IceBug SISU olx

NAOC Green X Middle
Mediocre race - A couple of bobbles, but too much hesitation and not pushing hard on the safe sections.
Not clean to 1 - took the trail to the left down the hill, but never saw the "boulders" that I wanted to use as an attack point - went in from a trail bend without being sure which one it was.
Stopped short on #7 - should have stayed high and kept going around, but was pulled down to check out a number of rockfaces by a bunch of folks, on other courses workign along the bottom.
On #12, was right on line coming up the reentrant, but again got pulled off to the right by other runners.
Clean on the last part.

Woke up a bit early and for some reason decided that doing a quick run around Laconia to watch the sun rise would be a good thing to do.
Remembered why I don't like running on pavement.

This was going to be a circumnavigation of the Hamlin-Eames trails at Chemung, but cut off the furthest out section on the Red Trail about a third of the way through to not be pressed for time on the back end - other commitments.
Nice and cool and moist.

Next time I go out for an evening run, I will check that there is some charge in my headlamp battery before I head out.

Got some in before it got just too dark to see the trail.

Run warm up/down 13:39 intensity: (25 @0) + (32 @1) + (3:40 @2) + (8:07 @3) + (55 @4) 2.05 km (6:40 / km) +52m 5:55 / km

Warmup for Gunstock 5K. Had a bit of a chat with a guy from the Conway area.

10 AM

Run race 28:36 intensity: (14 @1) + (9 @2) + (2:24 @3) + (25:49 @4) 5.0 km (5:43 / km) +125m 5:05 / km
ahr:159 max:164 shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Gunstock Morbid Mountain 5k.
Started by base lodge, over to the Pistol parking lots, cut up to the Connector trail, left onto Maple, straight onto Cobble to the top of the hill, then right onto Longbow. Down the steep pitch on Cobble, back down beside Poor Farm Brook, back up Cobble beside the entrance road, Maple, Connector, parking lots to the finish.
Things were getting sorted out through the parking lots and Connector - I was trying to not get pulled out too fast. Pretty good effdort up Cobble beside the road and along Longbow - passed a couple of people. Was keeping a kid in a hat in sight. THigns were spreading out a bit once we got out of the woods and back up Cobble. Woman came past me just past the crest of the hill, then a guy got me on the section of Maple. Not a lot left at the end.

Run warm up/down 18:00 [3] 2.4 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Cool-down jog with Gary from Conway - reversed the course back to the crest of Cobble and back. Exchanging pleasantries with many of the walkers -"you guys really doing it again??"

ahr:138 max:158 shoes: New Bal 572 Trail

From Bickford Rd trail head. Up E Gilford Trail, marked a bypass to the slick rock section, then up over Belknap and down the Blue Trail to Overlook to the Round Pond Trail to complete the loop.

Light mist towards the end, then a good rain on the drive home.

Nice foliage views

Run 31:42 intensity: (23 @0) + (34 @1) + (2:51 @2) + (23:56 @3) + (3:58 @4) 4.76 km (6:39 / km) +87m 6:06 / km
ahr:148 max:158 shoes: New Bal 910 Trail

Evening trail run at Gunstock.
Not a lot of energy, but got better towards the end.
Don't like these shoes much - too stiff and feel heavy. Need to invest insomething better for longer training runs - sometimes the Inov-8 X-Talons are just too light.
