Mapping 5:17:45 [1] 7.44 km (42:44 / km) +102m 39:59 / km
shoes: Inov-8G Roclite 315 Gr-Blk

Finished up the Walker parcel and got some more done along the northern edge. Getting a bit easier with leaves coming down - can see a bit further and much easier to gauge the thickness / runnability of the vegetation.

Gunstock - up into the newly logged area. They went pretty far up - quite a few branches to the 'lungs'. Opens up the visibility a lot. Will need to see how the skidder trails heal up, dry up, etc. Not much in the way of slash left behind.

Along with the cut this past spring in the low area to the E of Darcy's Field, will need to get this added to the latest map version and see if it plays into a design for a Billygoat, or possibly a Gunstock Goat, or a central NH O' Festival, or a SnoGaine.

Maybe I need to retire from my day job to focus on the fun things...

Brown course as a memory O' since I forgot the map on my desk. Got part way through and realized I couldn't remember which controls I'd planned for Brown and which for Orange, and what order they were for each course. So this is mostly the Brown, with some Orange controls in addition to / instead of some of the right ones.

Finished up in The Dim (to borrow CleverSky's terminology).

Feeling more energetic than Tuesday.

ahr:128 max:146

Trail run at RV Farm, some headlamp. Not a lot of energy.
Combination of work stress, poor sleep, and starting a keto diet in support of my wife - easier to stay on track if we're both eating the same stuff - although visions of cake and brownies and ice cream are dancing in front of my eyes.

ahr:128 max:148 shoes: Salomon SuperCross - Blue

Redesigning the white course - need to reverse the direction and come up with some different control locations.

ahr:129 max:150 shoes: Reid Hercules Green bike

XC Trails at Gunstock.
They've begun some more logging - this time from the logging landing at the end of Oak. Crosses the small stream and heads up onto the spur - need to get out there on foot to see how far up they're going and how much of a mess is being left behind.

ahr:103 max:140 shoes: Inov-8G 260 Mudclaw

Hanging some more streamers at Weeks Woods. Ideal running weather, cool dry, leaves coming down and visibility going up.

Mapping 1:38:01 [3] 2.35 km (41:44 / km) +54m 37:25 / km
shoes: Inov-8G 260 Mudclaw

The Walker Property area of the Hollis Town Forest - some interesting terrain - spurs and reentrants, with a few glacial erratics. Partly nice and open with some thicker areas to break up the sightlines.

ahr:96 max:141 shoes: Inov-8G 260 Mudclaw

Low speed wandering around in the woods. Hanging streamers for a training course that will evolve into a permanent course at Weeks Woods.
Dark after about the first 10 minutes, and temps were dropping.
One control description is 'water hole' wasn't quire sure what I'd find. No standing water, moist at most, but from the gunk on the leaves and branches in the depression it's pretty obvious.

ahr:127 max:144 shoes: Gray Speedcross 5 Salomon

Trail run, mostly by headlamp, up the Carye forest side of Lockes Hill.
Been a while since I've run by headlamp. Trail is very indistinct in places, with branches hanging low in spots. Forgot how when a branch appears at head level, it reflects light right back in my eyes, and my mind goes "dude, you're off the trail! Go left, go right, but don't go straight ahead." Almost lost the trail a couple of times. Glad I know these woods pretty well - also had a map and compass with me - bailout bearing is due W - will hit the swamp eventually.
