WOnderful conditions over at Gunstock. GNA had some sort of kids obstacle course setup in the stadium - quasi-race. Lots of folks out on the trails.

Taking it easy, trying to get loosened up after yesterday. Got over 10 hrs sleep, but still feeling ratehr tired. Was able to kick it up a notch for part of the time, and felt pretty good overall.

Snowshoe race 55:30 intensity: (10:00 @3) + (40:00 @4) + (5:30 @5) 5.5 km (10:05 / km)
ahr:163 max:169 shoes: TSL Small Snowshoes

A tough race - could feel that lack of sleep the night before last. Not a lot of pep, started pretty slow and kept getting slower.

Course changed from last year - instead of using the groomed shortcut from 9 to 8, kept going up the killer s-curve, along the high part of 9 for a bit, then cut down via single track to 8, where we had the long gradual hill back up. Going up Cobble on the snowshoe trail was tough, the 12" of snow on Wed got pretty well churned up by the time I got there. They changed the trail coming down also - some great pitches. Almost lost it a couple of times, stuff under the snow grabbing my snowshoes. Passed 1 woman on the downhill (well she stepped off the trail and let me by). Was catching up a bit to the group in front of me coming down, but they pulled ahead pretty quickly once we were back on the groomed stuff.
