Ran for the first part, GPSing the distance for course 1 of the Gunstock Wednesday Ski series courses. Came in right at 2.85 k, which is what I calculated from the adjusted measurement from the map.

Did the snoeshoe course next, not a lot of trail in many places. Had to follow the fading streamers and move alot of deadfall out of the way. Headed up Cobble and noticed my heart was really hammering. Backed of to mostly a walk, but was feeling lightheaded. Had to stop and sit down for a bit near the top, was not seeing straight. Close to blacking out - almost called home to have someone come find me.
Got going again when I started to feel chilled, but not feeling real stable. Not sure what was going on - headed home rather than doing the roller skiing I'd been planning on.

Running a couple of the courses that Paul from Gunstock wants to use for a Wednesday race series this year. Had distances as measured on the map, wanted to compare GPS track.

GPS seems to be about 5% shorter - will go with that for published lengths.

He has three ski loops - one is just under 3k staying on the race trails on the N side of Cobble, second is 3.95 - 4.2k going around Cobble, heading S on Birch, then cutting over to Maple and back in. Difference is where you cut from Cobble to Birch - sent him maps for both options.
Third is on the other side of the road, much flatter on the lanes and Brook run, just over 2 km.
Snowshoe loop goes on the new Lynx trail, going around the E side of Cobble Mtn, then up over Cobble Crown. Right around 3 km, with a whole lot of climb.

Ran 2nd and 3rd loops, will do first course and the snowshoe trail later.
