About a foot of new snow, so after getting the driveway cleared headed over to Gunstock. Figured it would be very soft, so just brought back country skis. They had groomed about 10 km, with most of the rest just track packed, which is fine for back country skis. Been a while since I've done any serious classic, so will be feeling it in my back for the next few days.
After a bit of switchbacking on the race trails, headed out on Cobble Loop, then did the south section - Birch, Oak, Maple. Continued around Cobble, then headed up to the high trails which hadn't been touched. Tough climbing, then the downhill part. Had to double pole most of the way down, snow halfway up to my knees - fun anyways.

Gunstock XC was "open" but the snow crew hadn't made a complete loop. Since it was only 11F, I was the only fool out on the trails, so was able to do some back and forth, up the gentle hill, down Chute and around the corner, then stop quickly, turnaround and back up Chute, turn around, etc.

Did a couple no poles up the hill and a bit of double poling, but it was too cold for an extended session.

Anticipating with some mega snow that they'll only roll and it will be very loose - so maybe some backcountry ski action tomorrow.
