Breaking trail from the Reed Road trail head up to the Quarry Trail, then left over E Quarry and to the base of the final ascent up to N Straightback. Snow was deep and soft. Short sections up to E Quarry and N Straightback could really use a winter/icy bypass - just too steep to manage in deep snow.

Out playing in the snow again. Trails had been packed but not tracked. Some brave soul had been out skating - tough with 3+" of heavy powder on top.
Rubbed some T5 on tips and tails before heading out - seemed to work OK - glide was as good as it was going to be with this snow.
Skins were great - good grip/kick - couldn't be too sloppy in technique or they would slide back.

Getting out to see what the base is like before the next big dump. There was just a dusting, so could easily see the many thin spots and rocks sticking up. Along the powerlines and up the Cobble S, then out Birch, Maple to the top of the hill and back, to the lollipop, then back along Birch and complete the Cobble reverse.
They'd groomed quite a bit last night, with little traffic earlier in the day, so it was fairly pristine.
Started around 6 and still plenty of light when I was done.
