Nice relaxed ski with cousins. Conversational pace.

Binding issue on one ski - tore off the front piece in a fall - caught an inside edge. Was able to snap it back in, but it appears the screw is out a bit. Need to do some disassembly to see if it's terminally messed up, or just needs some epoxy and tightening.

Fat bike attempt from top of Liberty Hill. Couple hundred meters of plowed gravel, then packed snow that someone had driven a truck down through. Able to make reasonable headway for parts of it, as long as I didn't have to weave more that 6" in either direction to maintain balance. About 750 meters of that before I hit a snowmobile trail junction. Headed downhill with some success, but enough traffic had come through that there was plenty of loose stuff on top. Tires kept skidding out one way or the other. Walked up the next hill, but conditions remained the same. Tried down a couple of spurs, but annoyance and frustration remained high.
Was able to ride some of the 750 m back up in the tire tracks.

Next time, wait until we've been through a couple of freeze/thaw cycles (and it's frozen) to have a more stable surface to ride on.

Downhill Ski 1:00:00 [0]

Got a few runs in to the the day. On the chilly side. Fogging up - don't have a good face mask setup yet to reduce this.

Shredders over on the Pistol side. Families with young kids on Ramrod in the middle. HS skier groups over on Pistol - let's bunch up and chat with each other up top and cuddle on the chair on the way up.

Life is good.

Clumping around out in the woods - first bit on twisty mtn bike trail, then out on the main loop.
Large trails well stomped in, small one had 3-4" of freshness on top of prior tracks..
Cold and peaceful out there.

Activity / Sport autofilled as Mapping - pretty good guess, As that's what most of my entries from this chunk of woods has been. Cold evening snowshoe up to the top of Locke's Hill through Carye Woods. Someone had skied in the trail just past the beaver dam, then ventured off the trail into the woods. I broke trail from there up to where it hits the old Carriage Rd form Kimball's Castle, where at least a couple of folks had bare-booted down from the top.
Took a while to get warmed up on the way up, glad I'd left on my windbreaker as an extra layer - had thought I'd be breaking a sweat by the dam, but too much longer than that.
Some running on the way down. The cleats on these snowshoes are a bit more aggressive than on the Red Feathers, so was careful to lift my feet high and not snag and fall on my face. Noticeably colder back down at the bottom coming back along the marsh/meadow - cold settling into the low spots.
