Warmup jog - hard icy trail.
Been a moderate amount of folks out on this in the past week or so.

Orienteering 56:40 intensity: (20:02 @0) + (18:39 @1) + (13:41 @2) + (4:18 @3) 4.14 km (13:40 / km) +139m 11:42 / km

Carye Woods BYOM Green - in reverse.
Good running conditions. Solid snow cover - makes thick areas really stand out. Fills in the ground level nooks and crannies and most of the ankle-grabbers are buried. Only punching through the crust on ~15% of my steps, and then not very far. Where it's wavy, the indents tend to be thicker and better able to support weight than stepping on the high spots.
Beautiful sunny day, although on the chilly side (right around 20 F) with a slight breeze.
Couple minor slips on hard crust on a slope early on, then crossing the stone wall coming from 10 to 9, stepped over onto hard crust, spikes did not grab and went down. Had my right arm out, hit butt first, then right elbow which was out like a wing and slightly back. Immediate "well that hurts", then checked out and discovered which ways not to move that arm.
Since it was a nice day, and my legs were still fine, continued around the rest of the course. Additional things learned - do not use the injured-side arm/hand to sweep branches out of the way, or to grab a tree to keep from slipping.

No skiing for a while - will see how the healing progresses

Walking 7:07 [0] 0.51 km (13:57 / km)

Hard and fast. They'd made a valiant effort to scratch up the surface and did pretty well overall. Quite a bit of needle and small branch litter, particularly under the pines and hemlocks. A few instances of one ski or the other slowing down suddenly - no major mishaps as a result though.
Forgot that I'd broken the carbide tip off my right pole, and that was the only set I'd brought with me - really should swap that tip/basket out...

Run 40:33 intensity: (5:49 @0) + (5:52 @1) + (9:20 @2) + (19:32 @3) 4.48 km (9:03 / km) +147m 7:46 / km
ahr:133 max:155 shoes: Red SpikeCross 5 GTX Salomon

Trail run at RV farm - dusk into darkness.
Uneven footing in many places where the trail wasn't nicely packed down by multiple walker. 2-4 sets of foot prints does not a smooth path make.
