Back to the Kelley-Drake parcel in New Hampton for more exploring. If the snowmobile trail heads off the E end of the map, they have some major clearing of blow-downs before snow falls again - big trees down in that direction.
Head up the Ridge Trail - not too steep a climb up the spur, but there is some very steep sections of the slope as it gets higher up. Not really traversable, so any O-course would be limited if it loops up high here.
Up top, checked out the logging ride in both directions - mostly runnable, with patches of ferns and other knee-high annoyances. Woods on either side are generally meh -maybe better if went further into this other privately owned parcel.
Then down the hill and over to the NW section. The low area is presumably marshy - not interested in venturing out into it to explore in the summer-time with ferns and other low vegetations to hide what's underfoot. Once on the other side however, there are some possibilities of fairly nice terrain. Quite a bit of logging has taken place, but undergrowth hasn't started sprouting yet to make it all shades of green. Followed an older trail all the way over to Rt 104. Then back and up the hill on the NW side - nice trail, well used by snowmobiles and apparently ATVs. Continues past the property line and alone the top of the hill - some rather nice sections up there.
