Orienteering 1:07:49 [3] 8.2 km (8:16 / km) +318m 6:56 / km

Trot around the NGOC Maprun training course on eastern side of Lightening Tree Hill Map - with red and white tape marking sites - which helped occasionally when I saw them - phone beeped a couple of times, but no sign of tape or feature nearby - particularly number 2 which was on a phantom veg boundary.

Some lovely bits (first half was in a fabulous bit of woods), lots of controls on platforms (some obvious), some gratuitous climbs and one particularly steep descent - so a typical NGOC event really.

Note

Bit of a disaster after training, as stopped just down road for short stroll and key battery was dead on return to car!!!

Luckily Carolyn Dent drove passed 5 minutes later and took me into Cinderford and managed to get a new battery in Coop. So all very lucky and to top it off Oxford came back from 2-0 down in the last 15 minutes to win and get into a playoff position :-)

Just searched on Youtube and found there is a hidden key hole.... !!!!!

Thornbury Maprun

Would have cleared if I had bothered going to no. 9 (which would have added zero distance!). Enjoyed a bit of running a bit quicker.

Another off road half - new route.

Golf course, then CW to Ivy Cottages, footpath to Hunt's Court Farm, then climb up spur into Westridge Woods, Coombe Hill, Laycpmbe Woods and then stayed high and footpath to Whiteway and back on paths through Folly Wood and into Twinberrow and back through to club house and into woods by lone style to see state of bluebells (coming through).

Ankles complaining a little after yesterday and with the very hard ground.
