run trails race 3:02:17 [3] *** 10.67 mi (17:05 / mi) +2425ft 14:03 / mi
slept:7.0 weight:190lbs (injured) shoes: Five Fingers KSOs

Ran 3 hours of the 5 hours for Cats & Dogs event at Lake Mingo. I was doing pretty well at a very conservative pace. Legs felt good to run and walk. Felt hydrated even with the heat. At about 2:45 in, I started to feel a bit drained. I forgot all my energy gels and bars, which I should have been taking all along. I felt hungry and extremely fatigued all the sudden. Severe bonk. I got back to the start line and felt I had nothing left. The next day, I wasn't sore at all, which validates that my failure was in nutrition and not CV/muscular fitness. Lesson learned. I was even going to go barefoot the 2nd loop with Nordic poles.
