O, ftw! Day 2 at Lord Hill. Got into a super flow on the first part of the course. Real orienteering with controls 2 to 6 completely off trail. Was actually possible to kind of run/jog in the woods. Nailed everything and caught up almost 8 min to Thomas to 5. I did not see him again until control 13, but I continued to hit all the controls well, so thought he was not too far ahead. Caught him completely at 15 as he missed that one, but then my energy started to fade and he slowly pulled ahead on the control picking controls 16 to 19. Then I made the huge mistake to try to find the indistinct trail on the hillside to 20 and lost 2 min to Thomas. Mistake again to 22 and lost another minute. Really tired now and made the wrong decision again to run around to 26, another minute lost... stumbled in to beat Dr T by less than 3 min. Hardcore O in the jungle with stinging nettles thrown into the mix. What does not kill you makes you harder ;)

Thanks to the COC crew! Awesome stuff.

O, ftw! Day 1 at Fort Ebey. Got a shaky start, not so good to 2, with some hesitations and turned down the wrong trail at one point. Got completely stuck in the bush trying to punch through 20 meters from the trail to control 3. Lost some time attacking 10. Caught up to Peteris at 13. To 16 took the wrong turn and lost too much elevation and Peteris got ahead by over a minute. Very tired legs the last bit home. This was just a brutally tough course mentally. On every single leg I felt like "it must have been better to go the other way around". Always long route choices around and then some crazy bashing to hit the flag. Wore me down. 9 km straight line, almost 14 km for my route. 13 min behind Thomas, a bit too much. Very nice day and amazing arena.

Sprint Relay at Fort Casey. Ran the first leg on a team with Andrea and Marg. Mass start was fun! I had the long fork to the first control, so Thomas and Louise got away. Caught Louise back on the way to 8 and I could see Thomas up ahead. Easy course, but a super bonus event!
