Note

So, it looks like I added about 12 minutes by running to the eliminated controls, which would have put me at around 57 minutes.

Orienteering 1:09:27 [3] 3.39 mi (20:29 / mi) +157m 17:55 / mi

This meet was put on by a JROTC team that routinely comes to QOC events, so that was good. The Brown course was not the best, but I totally appreciate the effort. It was almost all trail running, with perhaps the most useless control on any course I have ever run. Oh well.

I also found out when I finished that they had eliminated the first, second, and last controls from my course after I had gone out because of an irate homeowner with a shotgun! Well, I went to those controls and saw a man that I assume was the gun-toter, but I didn't see a gun. I also stayed away from his house, even though that was the optimal route. As a consequence, my course (and time) was longer than it had to be. I'll wait to see everyone's splits to try to calculate a rough difference.
