Walking 1:10:00 [2]

To answer the question of a concerned APer, nothing is wrong with me. I haven't been logging because I had an insanely crazy week at work, spending 4 days in Basking Ridge (3 of them in all-day meetings), driving home late Friday night...in the pouring rain and construction on the Wilson bridge...and taking 2 hours longer than usual. Then, I woke up at 4:30 this morning, to catch a 6:30 a.m. flight to lovely Laramie, where I spent some time power walking around town, checking up on all of the new hotels!

I also had to stay close to home because...I was still working! Trying to finish up a presentation for Monday morning and waiting for content that was being sent to me. I did manage to watch the first half of the Wyoming state HS soccer champs, and saw Laramie HS score a goal. Yay!

My other current issue is that I came in to some kind of powerful contact with poison ivy somewhere, and I'm thinking it was when I crossed that fence by the silos at Balls Bluff. It's on my face, chest, stomach and a little on my legs. The absolute worst of it, though, is on my entire right arm, which is currently completely scabbed over and swollen. Not a pretty sight. :-(

But I will try to do enough things this week that will be worthy of logging...and my standards are usually pretty low.

Orienteering race 1:40:00 [4] 8.1 km (12:21 / km)

As part of my Mother's Day present, I made Caitlin and Graham come orienteering with me. And, since my Mom was the meet director, it was the perfect Mother's Day gathering. I ran Blue today, and it felt pretty good. Ball's Bluff can be hilly and it has an extensive trail network which had me scratching my head a few times, but nothing serious. My knee held up pretty well until the last loop, which is what differentiated Red from Blue, so I was tempted to drop down to Red since we passed right by the Finish box when starting out on the loop. But, I persevered and was glad for it.

My knee was definitely sore at the end, so I went home and iced it and took some Aleve. Hopefully that will avert the worst of it tomorrow. I *am* having some sort of weird allergic reaction, though, where my eyes are itching beyond belief. Not sure what that's about.

We also managed to miss the worst of the rain, too. Today was a break between two storm systems, and we're slated to get upwards of 2" of rain overnight. I think we've had enough rain now. The storm last week spawned an F2 tornado about 5 miles from my house, damaging 150+ homes. That was a little scary.
