Test of the Decathlon Geonaute ONMOVE 500 watch.... Initial thoughts... 1. Activity display is too small 2. The access to the various menus is much different than most other standard watches (Timex, Casio, Garmin,...) and not really "intuitive" ...in fact the manual has a section called intuitive watch use to educate you and what's intuitive...go fig 3. The manual is in micro print...seriously and is full of screen shot pics which are quite uninformative...book looks nice and thick so you think you're getting something but that's only because it is presented in over a dozen languages 4. Had to look on you-tube to get the idea of how to use the watch 5. Trying to do far too much 6. GPS is way off...on finishing it said my walk was 1.7 km on download it jumped to 2 km and my start changed 7. you only get GPX files if you process through their software 8. Optical hr...my first true experience with this but I think its poor much worse than when I tried Colleen's Forerunner 35 9. on going pace as poor as all the other GPS watches 10. Cheap enough...$90...but not worth it if accuracy is that poor 11. says it bluetooth but not blue tooth (blue tooth smart they call it)...basically you need their software to run it and you still need to wire in to download 12. date and time were off and needed to be adjusted...both on watch and on AP 13. no direct AP download ability ...even pulling files directly from the watch
More to come on the next test ...but so far this has been my only disappointment with the store and its products

Everything combined Managed to get in 5 full loops plus ~1/4 loop to fill the time...Running with Rikard most of the time Running cautiously (right foot and left knee...still a bit wonky from last week and today's tax sitting)...used inserts...need to stretch more...Still running slow...really feeling it this year .. Managed to figure out how to adjust some of the watch settings and just kept it going the whole workout instead of separating into sections ...largely because I guess I'm not fully versed enough in the watch to do this quickly yet. The view screen sizing seems better after entering he display editd though the decimals are still way too small which lead me to believe the distance screen was the HR screen and i had a hr of 255!...Hr still seems off a bit...don't think I reached 174 max...but the gps seems ok...adjusted data to take out rests, stretches and walks. ...Maybe I was a bit harsh on little green...
