Digley with Simon.
My R Achilles is a bit grumbly. I first noticed a slight soreness after finishing on Saturday. It was OK to start on Sunday but was noticeably worse by the time I finished. Just slightly niggly Monday. Hopefully nothing serious and an easy week should allow it to settle down.

Note
(rest day)

If you call getting up at 0530 (to see a blizzard out of window) and then on the go working at the JK Relay all day a rest day?

Sunday Mar 27, 2016 #

10 AM

Orienteering race 1:15:31 [4] 7.0 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: V J Supra (2)

JK day 3, Kilnsey. M50L, 9.9km 365m.
Early start as I needed to get away and help set up the Relays. Legs dead from the start but pushed on and was clean through the first 6 controls. Then it all went wrong at #7. Long leg uphill to a vague reentrant. Misread the height difference between my attackpoint (end of limestone pavement ) and the control and ended up too high up the hill. Struggled to relocate and blew buckets of time. Knowing my victory chances were gone i then struggled to motivate myself to continue. Decided i may as well complete the course but not racing any more.
Finished in 12th about 10 mins down.

Orienteering race 57:50 [4] 5.0 mi (11:34 / mi)
shoes: V J Supra (2)

JK day 2, Wass. M50L 6.9km 375m.
Last start as last year. Storm Katie threatened to wreck my vision but luckily just held off until the drive home. Clean run apart from the odd hesitation (#5 and #6). Nearly caught Big Jon 4 mins and very happy to have just pipped Quentin and Clive. Doubt I'll hold on to my 22 second lead tomorrow though.
