Had to get the road bike out, pending a fix up session on Wednesday.

Hah ! Eat my dirt you mountain bike mounted commuters. I scorn your wide-ranging gears.

Long distance, Rocky Creek.

Great courses, very demanding physically, pretty rough underfoot (rock and vegetation).

I thought I had a pretty good run, lost a few minutes at #7, big undershoot, and again near the end (#11 ?) when I hit a big track and decided I was out by about 400m (over a 2km leg)... Decided I had no idea where I was and headed East and it turned out to be the small footpath that was on my map.

Well beaten by Ian Jones into 2nd on the course.

Back on the low-chocolate diet and time to do some running.

Middle distance, Roseburg SF.
Fairly clean but cautious out of the start and continued in that vein. There were a stack of people starting just in front of me on the same course, but I saw none of them for the first 2/3.

Came undone at #18, where the map looked odd en route. Should have ignored it, but lost confidence and bit of time. After that I was a bit too hesitant and lost the course by 58s.

Probably still off the pace through lack of running - no fastest splits over 24 controls !

A few bike issues - bottom bracket needs tightening up and something wrong with the shocks - maybe no air ?

Swim in the sunshine - lost track of laps and have broken my $3 watch (or at least the band), so not sure how I went speed wise.

Run to work. Beautiful morning. Achilles a bit sore for rest of day, but apart from that all good.
