Orienteering race (State League 16) 46:24 [3] 6.81 km (6:49 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 212 (black & red)

Southams Road - Hard 5 (M55A)
Knee felt stiff at the start but without any noticeable pain. Ewan caught me at 2, he had gone straight whilst I had taken the more conservative track routes. Pretty steady the rest of the way round without any problems. Pleased to be able to run most of the course (except the steep uphills where the lack of fitness showed). Finished first out of six, a very poor entry. Feeling a lot more confident about the Aus Champs than I was a few days ago.

Orienteering race (State League 15) 52:09 [3] 4.62 km (11:17 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 212 (black & red)

Mount Sugarloaf - Hard 2 (M55A)
A bit nervous about this given how the knee's been over the past couple of weeks, even went as far as buying a elasticated knee support (purely psychological). Didn't bode well at the start as the first control was up a steep slope, luckliy I managed this without too many dramas. The next few controls mainly involved contouring around the hillside which was kind on the knee. An 8 minute on the tricky 9th control, came across a root stock next to some flat road which seemed to fit the description but wasn't. Had to go up the hillside to relocate on the creeks and then dropped down on the right one. Thought 12 would be further down the slope only to turn round and see it higher up, must have run straight past it without seeing. Glad to get round in one piece, unfortunately the error on 9 cost me a good few places.

Running 9:20 [3] 1.66 km (5:37 / km)
(injured) shoes: Brooks GTS16 (found at an SOS)

A run at last, not very long, very tentative but no pain to speak of.

More importantly Ewan knocked 12 secs off his PB, only set last weekend, to run 9.20 for the 3000m at the CAS championships.
