French Creek East Training with Sandy F: navigating by features in the terrain like boulders, charcoal terraces and circular ditches (those are cool...very witchy.) Did some looking at contours, and contouring (through some of the worst pokeweed I've ever seen...) and basic compass work. Big thank you to Sandy for taking me along!

Patuxent River Park - Brown Course
Made two costly errors - the first on a very short leg from 2 to 3 - my eyes read the control number wrong (I was at a distance looking down into the re-entrant) so I circled around and around until I was convinced that had to be it. Got closer, and...yup, that was it. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked? Second mistake was on 5 to 6 - had trouble finding the 'knoll' because I mixed up which re-entrant I was navigating from...plus, I'm not totally convinced that knoll existed. I just saw a big rootstock.

All in all, my second Brown course went pretty well (meaning, it wasn't a disaster) and I enjoyed the different terrain. Up and down, up and down....it was challenging to keep my bearings on course. Great to see all the DVOA folk down south!

TNT around fields at high school w Dasha and Sandy F. Got to see Dasha unleash her speed around the track - WOW!!!! She's a fast one. Fun to do a little sprinting with her (watching her get away...) Then I ate thoroughly too much delicious food w Clem, Sandy, Dasha, Tom O, Vadim, and Olga. One of the best TNTs!

new loop around swat! lots of downed branches and some downed power lines...puddle jumping and bad traction. went slow but did increase speed a little every mile. felt very sluggish, but feel good now that it's over! :)
