Chilly! Glad I did the Brown course today with the intention of walking; anything else would have been too much what with the amount of time I spent trying not to trip or get poked in the eye.
That said, my carpooling coach (hughmac4) had some good advice for me that stuck with me about always thinking ahead, never stopping, and trying to stay smooth.
I didn't make many mistakes except on the way to 7: I got confused by a trail looking instead like a ditch, and had to circle back just to make sure I was in the right spot. My intuition knew I was right, but I was over-thinking things. Took a safer, slower route choice on the way to 9 choosing trail over woods just because I thought it would be more pleasant to use the trail.
Went slow enough that I knew exactly where I was most of the time by feature, which was helpful since just using compass would have been iffy on a few where you had to change your path so much b/c of the downed trees etc.
I hit my goals of staying smooth, having a relatively pleasant time, and not injuring myself. Check off the first meet of the season!
Great turnout today as far as I could tell. Thanks for the company bro!
After seeing AP splits: interesting. I made 3+min of mistakes! That is very low for me. Something to keep working on!
