It's apparent that I haven't been to O in a while; that I've got other things on my mind, and that I need to work on concentration. :)
Major problem with 6. Did not construct a good plan and hemmed and hawed while in motion, never a good idea. Wanted to go SE to the lower trail, but ended up staying high on the ridge, losing my pace count and losing contact with the map to the point of total confusion. Was not connecting the dots at all and got a little worried about my mental state. Luckily came across the power line and figured things out. DUH. Can't wait to see the RG on this one.
Confidence shaken, I plowed ahead only to become an idiot again on number 8. I was just unwilling to go through the terrible green and there were so many unmapped trails I was thoroughly befuddled. Ended up going back to start and attacking from there b/c I couldn't find any of the right trails.
Great weather, great to see DVOA peeps, great workout. Really enjoyed the last control and the run in - gently sloping trails and streamered. I felt really energetic. I'm glad I went and look forward to more fall O. And hopefully some better focus.
