ROC Meet at Letchworth - Red Course

We were pressed for time and actually just missed the official start window, but I thought I still had time for Red. This would have been true had it not been raining. My O-glasses got wet and kept fogging up, making it almost impossible to read the detail that I needed to make good progress. Had to skip a loop in the middle and the last loop in order to get back by 3pm.

Will have to change plans for any future orienteering in the rain.

Map Hike at Chestnut Ridge. Parked at the S lot and did as much as I could before it was dark in the woods, but when I came out, it was surprisingly light in the lot.

Running race 52:37 [4] 4.9 mi (10:44 / mi)

Final Dirt Cheap Trail Race of the year at Mendon Ponds. Much better performance than my 3 official finishes, but I didn't have my number. I was in the top 39.0% vs 53.2, 50.7 and 52.1 for races 2-4. Based on looking at a few people, this was fairly similar to my performance at the non-result meet at Durand last month.

I was about 9:30 at the mile before we hit the serious hills and was just under 28:00 at 2.5. Once again I was able to pass quite a few people over the last 3 miles and didn't get passed by anyone after some young guy passed me after coming downhill after the first climb.

Will add the Garmin route later.

Did not find #5 even though I'm sure I was at the correct root stock.

My legs weren't feeling that great and combined with the heat/humidity that had me sweating on the couch, I decided that a re-dedication to PT was in order. I had done bits and pieces over time, but this was the first concentrated effort in a long time. Some of exercises included:
- Gait stretch
- 2 sink exercises
- hamstring stretch on stairs
- 3 standing exercises (heel touch, sideways touch and slide back)
- 50 clams each side
- leg extensions
forgot to do fire hydrants
