I ran for all I was worth but I am not worth much. I lost time on #1 which was the only real time lost. Just too slow to run with the big boys.

My shoes were sliding yesterday so I wore my tighter shoes today. It worked better, of course it also wasn't raining today so my shoes were not wet.
Once again, I have no high expectation. I would like to break two hours but just want to finish without cramping.
I start off slow. The first three controls are short legs and the fourth one with good handrails. This is nice in allowing me to get use to the 1:15,000 map. I feel good early and am moving well (for me). My first big mistake is at number 9. I just flaked out on the final approach and then got confused. after floundering awhile, I got back and redo my final approach, this time paying attention and get to the control. From there I just got tired and slower.
I did finish without cramping so I met one goal.

I didn't have high hopes but still wanted to do good. It wasn't to be. I was good to control 1. then things went down hill. I went left to 2 and was a little short when i saw rock that wasn't mapped as expected. I ran up and down looking for a control that was past the rock. Finally, I climbed the rock and there was the control. I then screwed up three, then 5. At that point I settled down and the course was much easier (both for me and technically).
