Orienteering race (sprint) 25:37 [5] 2.9 km (8:50 / km)
shoes: reebok ZJET 2014

After working the World Police Fire games, got to run the sprint course. I didn't fully warm up but did some token stretching and some jogging around. I decided to go run while it was pouring rain out.
I lost time on two controls. One early where I overran a control and had to come back. The second one there were some map issues and the control wasn't in a good location (such that I thought the control had been removed). I looked around for it but didn't find it.
I ran out of steam before the end of the course.

Went back out to pick up controls. Took awhile to untie them. also had to carry a sawhorse back.

Ran the course used by the World Fire Police games. Map was good, course was good, and terrain was good (especially for the middle of summer).
I had been standing around most of the day so wasn't fresh by the time I finally went out. I had to quickly dress and go look for a lost orienteer so hadn't properly stretched. I was one of the last people to start. I let Dave Onkst shame me into doing the longer course.
I did fine navigationally. I screwed up by going from control 7 towards 9. I thought I was at 8. First clue I was off was when I hit an animal track. When the animal track turned into a mappable ride/trail I knew something was wrong. I took me a bit to figure out what I had done but then had no problem going to 8.
Control 11 (in a ditch) I ran to the right area but control was tucked into the ditch and behind a tree. I didn't see it so went looking elsewhere. Finally I bounced off the trail and shot back the same area I had been in before.
Towards the end I ran out of steam. I was getting slower and slower. I was serious danger of cramping at the end. I had to hobble into the finish.

Francis begged me to pick up the far controls. I was really hurting but I went and did anyway. I drank a lot liquids before going out and eat my lunch. I actually felt better once that started to take affect. I stayed on the trail as much as possible so I wouldn't cramp up. I moved very slow.

Soccer (indoor) 24:00 [4]
shoes: Soccer Indoor Nike 2013 Mercer

It was suppose to be an easy game but the other team cancelled. The team that just played agreed to play again against us. They were a better team but tired.
It turned out to be a good game. We won 7-5. I even scored a goal.
