Orienteering race 1:41:50 [4] *** 7.6 km (13:24 / km) +300m 11:11 / km
16c shoes: Jala X-Controls sz 9.5

Day 2 US Classic Champs

Had a 12 minute mistake on one of the controls. As I was bailing out, I figured out where I was. Also made a 2 minute mistake elsewhere. My 2 day total put me in 5th place is which is the best I have done in a long time. Usually I do myself in somehow. Had an enjoyable time except when extracting my self from the thorns. Quantico put on a nice meet!

Day 1 US Classic Champs

Had a decent run. 5th place. I was the last of the ones that didn't have a big screw up. I didn't move very well through the forest due to the green briar. I was also very careful near the controls as the visibility was low.

US Champs Sprint
Thought I had a decent run, but a little slow. Maybe a 20s mistake towards the end. Passed Scott Drumm on the way to one of the controls. Said, "That a way!". At the control, he stood aside and let me punch. I wonder if he thought I said, "Out of my way!" I didn't see him the rest of the weekend to ask him.

That evening we drove down to Richmond to eat at a barbeque restaurant that we saw on Bobby Flay. The ribs were excellent!
