JK Relay Hambleden Ad Hoc
Leftovers team, decent run but felt the course could have made more of the area. 30s time loss on #8 where the overprint on the fence was woefully misrepresentative.
Team 23rd which by NGOC standards is pretty good!

JK Individual Day 2 Cold Ash M21L
Legs aching today, especially hamstrings and calves which were as tight as a drum. Not expecting much from the running side beforehand, and pleased / surprised with how that held up overall. Unfortunately I completely blew #7, where I made about every mistake possible on one leg, costing 7m and any hope of the 'podium.' Pleased with the middle section in the trickier vague area. Also lost time at #4 (tempted to flags to the east, 1m 20s), #14 (stuck in a massive holly bush for ages, 30s) and #20 (note to self; direct through rhododendron is not a good idea, 2m).
Ended up 5th on the day, 4th overall, but a way off the top 3 and miles behind Llewellyn (1:15:25).

JK Individual Day 1 Hambleden M21L
This was an interesting one. Thought it would be a bit far for myself, seeing as the only running I seem to do lately is blue / brown courses at the weekend. Hamstrings still very tight as cause / result of back problems. And this proved to be the case. Suffered badly from cramp which onset on the way to #21. Stopped just after #22 to stretch my calves for 30s or so which meant I could at least reach the finish, but I was haemorraghing time for the last section.
Time losses:
#8 Initially tried to use veg boundary to locate pit which was a bit dodgy, found after a small panic using the valley / bush. 1m
#9 Fretting after the previous error I took a less than direct route and then it took me three forays into the green strip to find the flag. 45s
#16 On a good line but turned down the reentrant to a different flag, having to climb back up. 1m
#18 Mind wandering, too high. 30s
#21 Slightly dodgy route then a bit of head scratching on the wrong side of the rootstock. 1m
#22 Stopped to stretch. 30s
Very surprised to be right in the mix, 4th place.
Actually in the lead for a bit too.

JK Sprint M Open
Very easy, uninspiring sprint.
Which side of the building shall I go? Oh yeah, it doesn't really make a difference...
10s hesitation on the last control as I didn't want to look like a wally in full view of the spectators.
3rd in class, 14th on course.
