Pembrey

Straightforward course to avoid the (rather horrific) brambles. All about the running and on tired legs this was never going to go especially well. Struggled around as best I could. Could have saved time in a few places but no real errors. Pace gradually dropped throughout and shattered at the end.

Merthyr Mawr

This was a decent run; enjoyable. The area was great and my body and torch both behaved well (morning walk and sizeable quiche lunch). Sadly the planning - with multiple long legs parallel to the path system - made the navigation easier than it could have been which prevented me from finishing a little higher up the results list than I did. Still not a bad result. Ran the whole course without seeing anyone else and first finisher on M21 (for the third consecutive year).

#8 Slightly confused by wood in marsh which I hadn't spotted - hesitant [20]
#12 Possibly could have saved some climb early in leg, no disasters though.
#14 Hesitant after struggling to pick out path vs bare sand. Unsure of how far I'd gone, overshot [90]
#17 Oversimplified, crossed fence unnecessarily and had to correct [20]
#20 Lost path after yurts and had to push back to it through green [20]
#21 Left of line and stuck in green [30]

Back to Tankersley for some night-o training. Mostly new sites but when I did revisit those from the event the tags were still in place...
