Orienteering race (EYOC Relay) 40:27 [5] *** 5.1 km (7:56 / km)
spiked:14/20c slept:6.0 shoes: Adidas Swoops (Blue)

Started well, seemed to be leaving everyone behind out the start just jogging but then a load sprinted past me (theres like 5 photos of the start of me caning everyone at the start) Then very long, slow train through the shoulder height nettles, glad i wasnt at the fron of this point, pegged all the leaders back as i cut through the forest higher up and was the first into my number one. Lost a bit of time to number 2 as went to the wrong control on the ditch. Started to pull away with a couple of others through 3 and 4. Into a group of about 5 across 5 and 6, group of us lost a bit of time on 6 as in wrong reentrant. All mucked up bearing to 7 (1st radio control,in lead group), aparently aidan did to but then found it easy, 8 was piss, then rest of group left me as think they had different gaffle, plus started to feel tired, on own for 9, 10 (lost a bit of time on) 11,12,13 14, relatively uneventul, then through 15 (spectator) and was somehow 3rd although nealry 2 mins down on the leader, didnt know where i was though and thought i was further down. Combination of tiredness and the spectators distracted me and i lost time to 16, going to far to the right and got caught up by a few others. But then quick to 17, except having to jump down a cliff, as id just come from that direction. easy to 18, then back with a few people to 19 and was struggling to just keep running. Completely dead by the finish. But well happy, shame chris messed up 2nd leg but not really angry with him as wasnt expecting to do that well and was to happy with my run.
Split open my left knee somewhere along the race, right shin swollen up from when hit it going down cliff.
Not much sleep as eyoc party night before (which was awesome) but meant i got to sleep quicker and then early start again.
