first leg w16. terrain was much nicer than yesterday, and quite similar to britain. enjoyed it much more than the long, but still made some stupid mistakes, mainly #4 where there were about 7 of us looking for the same control and i found it before everyone else, but as they saw me punch it they ran towards me and i had to avoid them but disorientated myself and ran off 90 degrees the wrong way, ending up making a parallel error along a path. lost about 4 mins.
the rest was pretty much okay, a few 20s or less wobbles and one big one of about 1 min after spectator, came in the forest too early but relocated quickly. lost about 3 places in the run in as they all run faster than me...
came back in 8th and our team came 12th

shocking run. i didn't put myself under any pressure or anything for the race but still managed to mess up. it was my first run on a 1:15,000 map which threw me a bit, and the terrain was so different to the warm up and model areas - all brashings and green forest.
#1: bit of a wobble as the control was very well hidden.
#2: big mess up. took me 9:33 when the fastest time was 3:15. basically messing round in the green, and got caught up by my 2 and 4 minute runners. i even heard the control beep but couldn't pinpoint it! so annoying!
that set the tone for the rest of the race tbh, slow through the terrain and in navigation.
bottom half by quite a long way. not fun.

first ever race representing GBR! came 42nd: exactly halfway down the field, not bad considering i'm a 1st year and no way near as fast a runner as some of the other girls. 41st was 0.1 secs faster, need to work on my speed!
slow to #1: unsure of my RC and therefore hesitant in running. lost about 10-20 secs.
wrong thicket at #2: another 5 secs.
then clean til #8, where some unmarked OOB tape ruined my RC and i had to backtrack. 10 secs.
through the spectator control fine, then suddenly burnt out. the last few legs were straight running through a park - no navigation involved and i just felt absolutely knackered, lost lots of places and time.

it was a bit of a runners course but i really enjoyed it :D
