Orienteering 56:17 [2] ****
ahr:167 max:185 slept:10.0 weight:55kg shoes: inov8 mudclaw 180

ramsley moor - green.
alternated each leg doing:
- leg with a vague bearing and then putting the map away til i was very lost to practice relocation
- accurate compass and pacing

cut out #12-15 but the others worked really well and i got most my bearings straight on and relocated quickly each time, the vague area was pretty challenging and i really enjoyed it :D

MTBO race 51:30 [4] ***
ahr:180 max:202 10c slept:5.5 weight:55kg

first ever MTBO race!
it was in tankersley so i knew the area quite well, but it was so different on a MTBO map, mainly cause the paths were mapped so different and i found it quite hard to distinguish between them.
really enjoyed it and it was quite different to foot O, and my inexperience of off road biking really showed up :')
cycling on a 1:7500 map meant i overshot a lot but most of the time it was ok. i lost a bit of time on the way to #2 due to path confusion, then a bad rc to #4 led me up a really steep hill just to go back down the other side, and stupidly i thought i'd get back on my bike for the downhill after pushing it up and lost control and crashed into a tree :| then just after i got #4 there was another steep decent and i totally should have got off but i didn't, lost control again, skidded on some wet leaves and ended up going over the handlebars into a muddy pond shit thing. broke my gear changers and the left brake messed up and i spend ages dragging my bike out and i was actually covered in mud like head to toe.
was a bit put off by that so my next few controls were a bit shoddy but i got back into it and really enjoyed it, definitely going again :D

swollen L ankle and L knee but not too bad, and my throat felt fine :D
