by the time i'd set off we weren't really in with a chance so just cruised round, all fine except i messed up #1 AGAIN! that makes 3 days in a row which is real annoying as normally i get the first control right agskaeh going to practice not being stupid in future.
we came 7th, 9th if you count the n/c teams

Running warm up/down 21:36 [3] 2.49 km (8:40 / km) +74m 7:33 / km
ahr:153 max:182 shoes: inov8 oroc 340

run to the start and some stretching but mainly drills and strides, really wanted a clean run today so was getting in the ZONE and all that

Orienteering race (Classic) 40:38 [5] **** 5.03 km (8:05 / km) +150m 7:02 / km
ahr:193 max:203 spiked:12/13c shoes: inov8 oroc 340

jk individual 2, crieff hill, w16a(3.6k)
ok so being a clever person the first thing i do when i want a good run is forget to check my compass and make a MASSIVE parallel error on the first control HUEHADJASDLAKSMDk sooososo annoyed at myself for that. after trying to relocate i ended up at #7 and saw julie punch it so knew where i was but after that i'd lost a good 5 mins as other people took 3.04 and i took 8.26!!!! oh my brilliance really does amaze me sometimes, i'm so good at navigating it should be illegal
anyway after that i was all annoyed and disheartened but then i was like "NO katherine you will not give up, just put it behind you and carry on"
so i did, and apart from a 30second wobble on #5 the rest of my run was near-perfect! which was good but made that first mistake even more annoying in a way :/
so came 7th, 4th briton as there were some pretty beastly norweigans :') could have done a lot better though, 2nd or 3rd... oh well it happens to everyone

ahr:138 max:185 shoes: inov8 oroc 340

jogging to the start with some stretching and a lot of strides

Orienteering race (Classic) 39:43 [5] **** 4.49 km (8:51 / km) +190m 7:18 / km
ahr:193 max:203 spiked:9/13c shoes: inov8 oroc 340

jk individual 1, dunalastair, w16a (3.9k)
very scrappy run, messed up #1 and 2 about 30secs each which was really annoying as i thought i'd eradicated my 1st control mistakes last year but no, then lost 1min on #5 and another 30secs on #7, so basically all the wooded part was pretty shoddy
got out into the open bit and saw i'd been out 25 mins, and i wanted it under 30 so i told myself i would do the last steeper bit faster and clean so i did, pushed up all the hills and really focused on navigation - and it paid off as i came 9seconds ahead of 4th :o
so yep came 3rd which was a good result considering, but i think everyone had a bit of a bad time navigationalwise.

ahr:193 max:206 spiked:19/20c shoes: inov8 mudclaw 180

jk spint, livingston, w16 (1.9k)
was feeling good and confident at the start line, the training the day before was kinda easy and i felt strong and all my navigation was good so i had kinda high expectations of today
it was all going well until i let myself get distracted by someone cheering my name and taking photos, so i overshot #4 by quite a way, losing around 30secs. after that i was pretty hesitant and scrappy route choices to #15, 17 and 19 meant i lost about a minute overall on the whole course
came 9th

jk sprint training in livingston, just over the road from the sprint area tomorrow
ran the 3 ~1k courses as a kind of trains/sprintervals style course with the rest of the girls at 30 second intervals, which was pretty good as i had meg, katie and anwen behind me.
felt good whilst running, fast pace and low hr c: most of my navigation was spot on, bar one massive 2 min mess up where i thought i could get through a fence to a path, didn't see it was uncrossable then ran down another dead end after that :s

Running warm up/down 9:39 [2] 1.39 km (6:57 / km) +15m 6:35 / km
