This day was much better for me! I had a really fun time. The course setting was marginally less steep and shorter, but that made all the difference.

Because I knew what was in store I wasn't afraid to push the pace. I ran up everything, and only rarely slowed. Map reading was much much better, I stayed in good contact, and mistakes were much smaller.

I did lose focus briefly when I saw what I think was a bobcat. A couple controls later I saw a coyote. Very cool. Things like that are what make running so awesome.

The Gookin article in ONA has made me consider hydration. After Saturday's race I was definatly dehydrated, and I spent all afternoon feeling thirsty. As a result I drank water, ice tea, orange juice, and a 32 ounce gatorade. Could this explain my edge on Sunday???
