The classic distance course on Sunday. I really liked this course. It was challenging and fun, and even though there was lots of climb, it was well distributed and well used.

My only complaint was not enough water. First water stop was over 3 km into the course, and by then I was already getting dehydrated. (It was over 80 degrees out, and sunny the whole way). I think this dehydration contributed to my string of bad controls in the middle of the course.

(Can't place all of the blame on dehydration. I was leaning too heavily on streambeds as solid linear features, but it is easy to get confused, deep in the gully.)

Day 2 my time was 1:13:45 (7th overall), best was Jonas at 1:06:50

Day one, middle distance. Actually pretty short.

Mostly ran clean. A bit of wobbling to the first control, then settled down. Vegetation mapping felt a little inconsistent, and made some early mistakes based on that. Biggest mistake came on 4th control. I ran straight towards it, but it was deep in a gully, and I couldn't see it. I wasn't confident enough of my location, and wasted a lot of time before finding it. After that I really settled down and ran fast into the finish.

Day 1 my time was 30:21 (5th overal), best time was Magnus at 27:40

Ran the trail-o course, and stopped along the way to take the quiz. Got 10 out of 14 right.

Legs felt quite tired afterwards.
