Walking 45:00 [1] 2.5 mi (3.3 mph) +300ft
weight:146.4lbs (rest day) shoes: Hoka Clifton 7

Issy walk with Tracy: The clock had been ticking for quite a while. After a pretty dry March, we've had an incredibly long streak of fantastic April weather. I have not ridden my wet trail mountain bike since February! It's great to get some badly needed rain,

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Third time is the charm-nonchalance morphs into perseverance. On Monday I nonchalantly selected a GR Strava segment to use lowering a KOM as motivation to ride a section a little harder than the rest of a long moderate ride. My Garmin acted up and I failed to show on the segment, so I tried again on Wednesday with even worse GPS results. Turns out my speed sensor battery was weak and was causing the GPS to cut in and out and do crazy things. With a new battery, I set out again today with the same goal in mind. Mission accomplished.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: Too old to play with marbles-too young to lose my marbles. As in trail marbles, that will be around until next winter's wet trails reabsorb them. Super dry weather and much heavier trail use over the last year has resulted in near summer levels of loose rock "marbles" in the corners. Normally this is Hero Dirt season with grippy slightly damp trails, but we are skipping that season. Garmin goofiness didn't cause me to lose my marbles, but it did cost me two KOM's. I still got the desired workout, and I will be back!

Tiger (Kitten) Mountain. My bike is not designed (nor is my body built for crashing on) the burliest Tiger trails, so I don't ride them. I did ride the very steep new Corkscrew Trail. Corkscrew is built for jumpers, but everything is rollable for non-pilots. Missed the turnoff for Corkscrew, so I climbed back up Preston for the first time in a while. Good to refresh the required skills! First Tiger ride since November 2nd, and I only saw one other rider! Superb conditions.

Issy Bike Walk: Early taste of summer. Wow, what an extended run of fantastic weather. Too nice for a DOB before another hard ride tomorrow. I went for an easy walk, but on my bike.

Grand Ridge RT-Duthie-Soaring Eagle: The Great Enabler. A little pre-ride Go Juice totally changed the complexion of this ride. Sixty mg's of caffeine enabled me to find enough energy (ignore the fatigue?) to ride really well. I knew that I was still tired from last week's big rides, but I never let that creep into my mind. A mid-ride booster shot ensured that I would survive the return trip back over GR.
