Orienteering 1:09:31 [4] 6.2 km (5.4 kph)

Lake Lechenaultia.

Medium course - The map does not lend itself to any technical courses. So it became a question of how quickly can I run around. The answer early was not quick at all. Tight lungs for the first 8 controls indicate there is still some recovery to be had from the hockey carnival and a mild cold.

Cycling 1:21:10 [4] 33.8 km (25.0 kph)

From Lake Lechenaultia to Stratton via Lilydale Road and Toodyay road. While a lot of good down hill still not a piece of cake. The climb up to Gidgeganup with a head wind was a killer - down to granny gear very quickly. A hint of cramp through out. Just at the top of red hill I get passed by two fit young men - probably from the club ride in Chidlow, I hang on and my pedestrian 30km/h soon becomes 45 on the flat and 60 on the downhill. Good for a while but at my current bike fitness level I could not hold for long. I ease off to enjoy the rest of the downhill hitting 60 at the bottom. So glad My pick was waiting as the last 20k over to the Read Hwy and home would have been a drag into the fresh sea breeze.

PS recommend LIllydale road. pretty and not too steep

Cycling (Commute) 40:10 [3] 17.4 km (26.0 kph)

For the first 8 km questioned my rational of pushing through the tiredness barrier. My pace was slow initially but as I warmed up my pace steadied and felt good enough to undertake some extra kms

Cycling 40:30 [4] 17.7 km (26.2 kph)

Overall felt faster than the morning, but had to endure some cycling crowds at all the inner city intersections.

Hockey 45:00 [3]

Some members of our team were resting for 2 weeks. I should have done the same. Hard work initially.

Cycling 35:45 [4] 15.0 km (25.2 kph)

Lots of cobwebs to shake out after not riding for two weeks. South easterly headwind did not help. Not surprisingly still some residual tiredness from the hockey carnival.
5 PM

Cycling (Commute) 38:10 [4] 17.6 km (27.7 kph)

A lot of extra riders today slowing things up initially. Seemed to passing all with few opportunities for a free ride.
