had a bad night sleep....just can not get a good night sleep the first night in a new place.....But had a good run on the Green course middle course at the F. Pig... in Middle creek park...in Ky.... the course started up hill and I was tired right at the start..... over ran the first control..... but then got in the flow.... took a bad route to #3.....but the rest were ok... the hill on the way to #12 kicked my butt.....it was hot and I was feeling it....no real problems the rest of the way just tired and went a little slower ....did not want a big goof because I was tired.... so made sure I had a plan of how I was going to the next control.....over all not bad finished 10th for the course....

Ran the model training course in camp michaels ky. easy jog around 9 controls....the map was in open areas along fields and not hard to see... but looking up into the hills there was alot green and they say there are some ups for the first day.... glad I got an easy jog in legs were dead.... but felt better by the end... I hope it was from sitting in airports and on the plane...... warm sunny day here.... I was to fly out of Hartford at 0530 this morn. but got a call late last nite telling me the flight was pushed off until 0900..... got a little more sleep but wanted to head up early to get through Hartford before the rush.....got to airport to find the flight pushed off again until 0915.... we got off the ground at 0945.... flew on a small jet that holds about 60 people.... we had 4 on board.....one more then the flight crew.... but we got here safe.... had time to find and run the course and then a glass of wine and a good meal.....and now to chill out.....So for tonite life is good....

Played golf today....great fun with the wind.... felt dead today.... I think I have hit the wall and need to back off a little....didn't want to run today but thought a short run would help get the blood moving ....just need to push through until Wed. and then some down time....

Ran the green course at Ansonia N.C. .... legs felt good wanted to run faster today and trust my nav. a little more then I did in N.C. .... 1-4 all bingo's..... went off to the left on No. 5 about 50 yds... could see the bag off to the right... but it cost me a good min. and half.... I must have gone up through the wrong gap in the cliffs....6-8 no problem.... on the way to 9 went to far to the right and saw the trail on my right and tried to adjust to left but not enough.... pace count saved me as I knew I went far enough and the bag should be over a little knoll to my left.... but it cost me a min. ... the rest of the course was ok and I hit everthing dead on.... legs were a little tired by this time...(need more woods running) but kept my head and had a plan at each bag before I moved out....that seems to help keep me under control.....wish I could read the map as I run but every time I try I end up on my face..... I took the home bound leg by going though the wet area by the homes west of the baseball field.... It seems to have worked out ok... I just did not want to go over the hills .... All in all it was a good day.... fun event.....Thanks Marie and Mike .... Great job....
and Thanks George for doing the shirts they look good out in the woods...

Wanted to get a few more controls.... so I ran the orange course.... alot of trails to run on .... but I tried to stay off them to get more woods running....had flash back as I ran by the gun range pace did pick up a bit !!! fun extra workout.... leg were tired at the end... good days work..

Ran with the Mlfd R.R.'s ....out along the water to Walnut B. and Mlfd Pt. and back ..... ended up going solo as most of the group turn back for the 6 mile loop..... the two lead runners were out of sight by the halfway Pt.... with out the group I thought my pace was slower this week....But it was faster.... I got another long run in..... will have a break in training over the next two weeks when I go to the Flying Pig and then up to U of Mich. to do so research..... Found another tick on the back of my leg when I woke up this morn. ...I ck'ed three times last nite.... and still I missed this little sucker....
