Oh yea! 2+ hrs on this long course, filled with awesome fighting skills through the green patches and through an immeasurable amount of spider webs, coupled with great footwork on the rocky uneven ground..
It would a much better experience if the map was more accurate and reliable but I had to deal with it so compass bearings were in order, no matter how shitty the execution of them was on my part. One major error on #6 as I was drifting up on a bearing, realizing where I am and trying to attack the control from a different angle than originally planned, missing it terribly and very slowly relocating off of two!! trails from both sides of the control. Turns out I overran it on the top part enough to cause a parallel error in the rocky streams. Real bummer b/c despite my slow speed I was navigating through the crap semi decently before. #8 gave me some problem and the rest was just very slow (9-12 on the rocky side slope with very bad footing; 13-14 straight up the hill).
Glad I was out :O

Since we drove 14 hrs to Fundy National Park, I decided to fully enjoy my Oing experience and walk around the middle course for about an hour. Joking aside, there was practically no enjoyment for me on this map and in these very dense woods with rocky ground. Very low visibility could have been tolerable only if the map was good enough to discern all the patches of green in btwn white woods (that way it would have been a decent training for me). Starting from the first control, I couldn't get my head into it but did my best to try to "trust" the map as much as I could and just go from one control to the next, very very slowly. Screwed up #2, hesitating on my location and moving a bit right and further than I had to go. 3 and 4 were Ok, 5 was decent towards the end of the leg but very slow and hesitant in the middle as I was going on the side of a steep reentrant being scared b/c of bear marks going the same way as I was .. Got my way around the rest of the course w/o major problems but very slow. Going to 10, an unmapped green patch across the stream caused me to go up instead of just going on my bearing straight ahead..

Longest write-up to date, lots of complaing but it did make me tougher :)

I finally found a loop in my backyard park!! All thanks to 4RVs! It's not a big loop, more like a lasso type of route close to the river and its incoming streams. Lots and lots of nettle around but fairly dry so no dirty shoes this time. I did get covered in dust from those damn 4RVs (2 passed me flying, 1 stopped) and a motorcycle.

Strength 8:00 [1]

feels good to stretch, need to start doing yoga again
