Course race 1:53:39 [4] 10.94 mi (10:23 / mi)
shoes: Falcon Spikes

Boulder Dash 2-Day Classic, Day 2. Blue. Complex relief, moderate fight, low climb. Performed much better today due to better focus. Would have run under 10/k if I had simply run faster (I essentially walked the first 4 points, though in doing so I avoided the massive errors that many others made on those points which ended up putting me even with them). 2 errors, both overshots and quickly corrected. Good balance of compass/pace, rough compass, collecting and catching features today, and I always had a route and attackpoint plan. Just have to run faster- as always (going on 10 years now with that being the sticking point...)

Course race 1:48:31 [4] 10.27 km (10:34 / km)
shoes: Falcon Spikes

Boulder Dash 2-Day Classic, Day 1. Blue. Moderate fight, low climb, moderate relief course. Could not focus for much of the race due to mental exhaustion. Loss of contact with the map and lack of "route attackpoint control" plan resulted in multiple errors. On the positive side, recent focus on using only terrain association (w/ focus on detailed contour reading) in training paid off, as I was always able to relocate without shooting to an unmistakeably well defined feature. Lucky Charms, eggs. Heavy Reflux (likely due to dehydration at some points).

Thursday Oct 6, 2011 #

Intervals intervals 59:46 [4] 5.61 km (10:39 / km)
shoes: Omni 7

Woods hill intervals behind the Jewish Chapel. Lemon Pepper Chicken, Pierogies. Low Reflux.

Course 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)
shoes: Omni 7

Practice course, "Red Light, Green Light." Focus on discerning when to book it and when to slow down and use precision map/compass. Low Reflux. Chile con Carne, Bread Bowl. Left Garmin on in the van- no accurate time/distance.
