Discussion: Bedford Rd level crossing

Wow they finally got rid of it? It was the bane of my existence when cycling east from home (not far from where we lived) with traffic lights on one side and the school pedestrian crossing on the other but I didn't know they had any intention of removing it. There was never any sign of that when we were there. Did they build the road over the top? I really don't know what they could do to fix that in just the past four months.

Regarding a Cadbury factory, there is the Mondelez down on Canterbury Rd (corner of Eastlink) that distributes Cadbury products. As a Defence member I used to be able to purchase seconds from there but we only ever went once (just after lockdown) because I went overbaord and bought way too much chocolate so decided it wasn't a good idea.

The rail's under the road, looks like they excavated to lower the rail line (similar to Grange Road where I live) as there's no sign that the road's been raised.
