MTBO 2:40:00 28.0 km (5:43 / km)
MTBOoooh at Muckleford. Because of my blister (only one now), l can't run so opted for the longer course 3. It was pretty tough, with a fair bit of rocky single track and l took it easy, making sure l didn't fall off the orange monster, of which l am now a little more fond. There were a lot of unmarked tracks, many of which were water courses cleaned out after the recent rain and l went down a couple by mistake. The highlight was arriving at lots of controls at the same time as a couple of young fit blokes and l had them worried, but it turned out they were doing course 2 and had been to other controls in between. I helped pack up and had a yummy savoury scone and a lot of water at Newstead afterwards. It was a long but great day.
Run (Street O) 44:00 5.38 km (8:11 / km)
Blind Creek. There was a big electrical storm just when it was time to leave home, and that meant fewer people and a higher score, even if l came last! Yay! I trotted around delicately, as I have 5 blisters (one large) from the weekend, and could only run with the help of blister tape. But it meant tip toeing along, which hurts my knee. So l was glad the course was short and glad to get back. The rain held off for the event but started again afterwards.
