Run 40:43 5.7 km (7:09 / km)
Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands. Last run before Bathurst. I felt plump and sluggish, although the scents of the native flowering plants made it pleasant. I seem to have caught a cold on the weekend which, combined with trying to complete some work before l leave for B, has meant no exercise this week until today.
I have commenced some interesting work with the National Aerial Firefighting Centre that should keep me busy for a year or so, which is good. I'll be the envy of my former colleagues, as they all want to work with aircraft!
Orienteering 1:36:00 6.9 km (13:55 / km)
Woo hoo to boo hoo today. Vic long distance championships. I was a bit tired after a fairly sleepless night, an early morning and working on the start (with only an analogue clock and a watch to coordinate starts) and finally set off. I lost confidence at #1, when l couldn't really make sense of the map and finally relocated off the track. Turns out l was originally standing right next to the correct mound, but couldn't be bothered looking behind it. Another loss of confidence at #4, due to the same reason. I then mispunched #9, where two controls were in close proximity and l didn't check the number. Other than that l had a nice run in the bush with no accidents. It was a glorious day, but l was disappointed in my MP.
