Hiking (French Creek) 1:10:00 [1]
Took the dogs to French Creek again today - and now they're napping quietly! Went slow again, have to build up the dogs' endurance again, plus temps in the 60's is still a touch warm for them. started out on the Lenape trail, then went off trail keeping Rt 345 to our left to keep from getting lost as we didn't have a good orienteering map with us, just the French Creek trail map from years ago. Drakko does much better on his leash off trail, because he can't get a sense that he knows where we're going! Went well until they caught the scent of a deer (I had seen the deer take off well before we arrived and they didn't see it - for once I had an advantage!). Then all they wanted to do was follow the scent. Overall a good trip through the woods, I think Drakko's going to really enjoy hiking this winter!
