Note

Family took priority today. Had to take care of some family issues. Glad I made time for it all, but missed a workout. Studied Running Workout Strategies at bedtime....good stuff.

Met with Aimee to run Blodgett open space. But woke up to 3" on ground & lowvisibility as it continued to snow hard. I was supposed to ride there to meet her for the run, but having to be on those crazy roads with those drivers would have been far too dangerous so it was just a run.

Ran big trail. I felt like crap. Still have headache from yesterday. We went up blodgett trail...got close-ish, but she got worried about safety due to snow so instead of make her feel uncomfortable we turned around. It was a blizzard to heavy snow most of the day. We turned and came down to explore the other trails. Easier to run as we were coming downhill & it wasn't as steep as blodgett trail.

Winded back and got spit out on road.

20 degrees, windy and snowing heavily.
2 spandex pants (Capri & ripped pants). 2 smart wool socks, hokas, ice bug gaiters, lightweing long sleeve, black fleece, rain jacket, gloves, purple hat.

Toes and fingers froze.

Woke up with awful headache. Not sure why. Almost made me want to bail on ride and sleep but convinced myself to at least ride easy & get some fresh air. Once out, the trail took control and the hypoxic state made my headache fade to the background. The more out of breath I was, the better my head felt....so I rode & rode hard :)

Santa Fe to north entrance, falcon to "parking lot hill" and back.

Conditions: 55 degrees sunny & windy
Wore 2 light long sleeves, 7 # pack, full leg tights and bike short and Swiftwick socks. Comfortable.

Packed Snow riding on some of falcon which is always fun. Great lunch :)

Lost my lunch hour due to work an got off late for work and had a date with James I was late for. Bad. I really need to learn how to wake up early. Life doesn't interfere with sickeningly early plans typically.

Made thanksgiving/Christmas Dinner (do over) and had friends over and went and hung out with other friends. No room for working out today. Fun, but now I wish I could do over New Years so I could get a New Year's Day adventure in :)

Went for a quick run from home because it was all I had opportunity to do. Lunch ride got interrupted by work; after work ride it cancelled by J needing my help. I guess a quick run is better than nothing....now to go fix dinner...

Effort was easy but pushing the pace...lungs and legs felt good. I thought I was going really fast (running in dark without headlight may have added to that illusion.) ...a bit disappointed by actual resulting time.
