running 2:35:00 [3] 28.0 km (5:32 / km) +1050m 4:40 / km

was going to run a street event here in christchurch but i didnt take enough care in my map memory for the run to the assembly area from where im staying here in addington. so i was going to miss the start so i turned it into a long one cause there was a couple off good looking hills off in the distance and yes it was long probably the longest run ive done for a number of years.

dont really know where i went. but i did end up running on snow and it started snowing more when i was up there too. quite cold up the top of the hills. was up somewhere near dyers pass and some nice running/walking tracks through that area.

Garmin took time to find satelites today. but i think i believe it about the climb today. to a point anyway. pace probably wasnt the quickest but i was running up hill for 40 odd minutes straight at one point.

Accidently ran past the event on the way back down so i stopped talked to a couple of people and had a look at the map, think i was glad i missed it.

Run was done with out food or water which was a bit of a gamble. but i did have money so when i got near the end i stopped at the closest dominos and ordered some pizza and coke.

Not a bad outing

Note

appart from the days skiing on wednesday i havent done a heap went for 3 walks which were all about and hour long up some good hills round queenstown but thats been about it. and ive enjoyed it.

orienteering race 1:12:35 [3] 8.94 km (8:07 / km)

lets say lost 4 min at the last control, which made the difference with the bushrangers challenge for the day.

there were a few other problems in there too. and i wasnt very strong on the hills.. enjoyed the down hill section at the end though.

must say got smashed by juniors again.
