Rollerskating 1:00:00 [1]

One of my favorite things about skating is keeping up with the kids I've been in class with, some for many months.

I noticed today that, of about 25 people in class, only one had skin lighter than my Mediterranean olive skin.

There is one newer kid, a white boy about 12 years old, who has taken a slightly unnatural interest in me. He acts up a lot -- today he had to sit out from skating because he'd talked back to a teacher at school -- but is always nice to me, admires me, and wants to be near me. I'm used to that from 10 year old girls but not 12 year old boys. Today he asked me if he could use my phone to call his mom. His babysitter interrupted us and said not to let him use my phone, that he was trying to phone his mom, but his mom was not supposed to know he was at the rink. Weird. Also weird was that he didn't know how to use a cell phone, and didn't know what his area code was. Maybe he's learning disabled.

Note

I checked out Laramie vacation rentals today. I found a couple houses available in town: one that sleeps 12 for $295/night, and one that sleeps 8 for $220/night. Both are available for Laramie Daze and U.S. Champs. I hope I can get people to share one of these. It was really fun to share a house for the Tahoe Ski-O week.
