Running (Snowshoe Raid) 3:57:00 [3] 13.0 km (18:14 / km) +200m 16:56 / km
shoes: Salomon XCR

GHO Snowshoe Raid. We did ok for this race. On the plus side, were not sick, and both had water. We also ran well for our conditioning and in snowshoes. On the downside, our conditioning actually wasnt very good. We made some very plain errors right at the start, which made itdifficult to ramp up the speed right away. Not knowing exactly where you are in the first 5 min really slows down your run as your constantly checking the map.

Lessons for this one, check the map especially at junctions of greater than 3 trails. Know what you should be running on coming out of the junction. ie, for the raid, we should have been running a trail curving to the left. In reality, we ran down a perfectly straight trail roughly paralleling the direction. the straightness should have tipped us off.

Time management was good for this one again. 3 min to spare.

Neither ericrox or I had much training going into this, hopefully we can get back into the training sessions, and bring the fitness back up to compete.

Fun day though, nice weather for running. Course was really great, Bob Miller did an excellent job. Sponsors were fantastic, loads of prizes/door prizes. Still a must do race for me, its a blast.

Running (Walkers Short) 27:10 [3] 5.44 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Salomon XCR

Solid run for most. 14min split, so I picked it up despite having cramp through park near end. then to top it off I think I injured my dick. You know how runners sometimes tape their nipples? well I may need to tie up Jon Johnson, or package him differently. It is absolutely unbelievable the amount of pain a small chafe on yer cack can hurt.

Live and learn. Who's the hero now frankj?
