Orienteering 1:20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics GEL Trabuco

Putting out all the controls for Junior League event at Campbell Park. It was such a nice day ... perfect Autumn weather.

Picking up the distant controls after the event, plus all the tapes from the BL training last Wednesday, plus a couple of reflectors from Cockies training. I was feeling a bit weary towards the end.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2110

Cockies Thursday Ints organised by ALJ, with Phoebe, Jose, Heffer, Bun, Jenny, Lachy, Miss Jones, and Mace. A warm up from Al and Rob's place out to Acton Peninsula, then a series of O-ints through the sculpture garden and ANU. I had to cut mine short to go and pick up the pide, or 'pie' as Jose likes to call it.

Maps and pide after the run.

Orienteering 1:15:00 [2]
shoes: asics GT-2130

Out to Hackett Hill and North Campbell Park at the crack of dawn to put out tapes and reflectors for BL this afternoon, and Cockies training this evening. I managed to double up on some control sites. Couldn't really see the dawn because of the thick fog, and at a balmy 5 degrees it was nice to keep moving.

BL training at Campbell Park North. We ran up to the saddle from Hackett for a warm up. O-ints in pairs, on a course that was a series of triangles. Runner 'A' ran hard from S-1-2 while runner 'B' could take it easy going from S-2. Then they tagged and swapped, so 'B' did 2-3-4 hard while 'A' had a recovery on 2-4. And so on. It worked well as an exercise - will do it again sometime.

Cockies training around the bottom of Hackett Hill. A night-O course but only Miss Jones, Muz and Heffer were there. Muz did it hard by himself, while Miss Jones and Heffer did it as a pair alternating the navigating, so I tagged along behind them and picked up the reflectors as I went. Not a hard run, but you still have to concentrate in the dark. Good fun.

Note

I think I will have an O free week after the ACT champs.

Running 31:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2130

Run from the abshouse after work. Late leaving work, and Mary was picking me up, so it had to be quick. A hilly loop over Gossan Hill got the heart rate up, but my knees were feeling the effects of the weekend still.

Running around Campbell Park on dusk checking control sites for Junior League event on Saturday. Nothing like just-in-time course setting.
